October is national bullying awareness month. The students of LaPoynor ISD are doing several activities to raise awareness. As part of Donna Crook’s technology classes, the high school students, created brochures, made posters, and had daily announcements regarding the effects of bullying. Several high school students also performed a skit to the elementary students. Pictured are the high school participants of the play and the winners of the elementary coloring contest.
The LaPoynor High School criminal justice classes hosted the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department for a luncheon on Friday, October 7th. The students, taught by Lisa Rosenberg, organized the luncheon and had a round table discussion with the officers to gain a better understanding of the law enforcement profession. Sheriff Hillhouse was presented a plaque for the Sheriff’s Departments hard work and dedication.
