Parents,

As you are aware LaPoynor ISD has utilized "Flex Days" as a reward for success on Benchmark tests and successful completion of state mandated TAKS tests. The reward of days were based on passing all four core subject areas. In the past scores were returned from the state to the district in time to determine who was awarded those "Flex Days". Due to the changes in state assessments we will not be receiving TAKS/EOC or STAAR results in time to determine "Flex Day" exemptions.

Therefore,  if a student meets final exam exemption criterion in ALL subjects they will receive the four "Flex Days" on May 24, 25, 29 and 30. Our student handbook states that those students who have a semester average of 90 and have no more than 3 absences or an average of 80 and have no more that 2 absences in a particular class may be exempt from the semester exam in that subject. Once again, students must meet exemption criteria for all subject areas to receive "Flex Days".
