Position:  Business Manager

Assignment:  Central Administration Office

Primary Purpose:  Direct and manage the business operations of the district including accounting, payroll, purchasing, and tax collection.  Responsible for oversight of all financial and business affairs of the district.  Serve as chief financial advisor and budget advisor to the superintendent and board of trustees.  Direct and manage daily payroll activities of the district.  Ensure that payroll is delivered in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations and in a timely manner.  Direct and manage the purchasing activities of the district.  Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations governing school district purchases of goods and services.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or educational administration preferred

Experience and Special Knowledge/Skills:         

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in school business management or public organization preferred.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, accounting systems, and payroll processing preferred
  • Ability to implement policy and procedures
  • Ability to interpret data
  • Ability to manage budget
  • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
