Student Assessment

Due to recent developments with the Coronavirus, Governor Abbott has waived state assessment requirements for the 2019-2020 school year.  Changes are listed below:

STAAR and STAAR Alt 2 for Grades 3-8 are cancelled.

Educators will use available individual performance data for students in grades 5 & 8 to determine advancement to the next grade level.

STAAR End of Course Assessments (EOC’s) are cancelled.

Individual Grade Placement Committees will evaluate any 12th grade student who has not completed state testing requirements to determine eligibility for graduation purposes.

Students currently enrolled in an EOC tested subject (Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, US History) are not required to complete the EOC associated with that course if they complete the course successfully in the 2019-2020 school year.  Those students will not be required to take EOC assessments for those courses in the future.
