April Events 📷

April Students of the Month

Here is what their teachers had to say about them:
⭐ Colton Eason is the president of the student council and a VERY hard worker! He recently went to STUCO State Conference and earned the Sweepstakes award (highest award for a council in Texas) for his council and school. Within the school, he works on projects for STUCO, leads the council, and is the man to go to for school spirit. He also is in NHS, Yearbook, and is one of the Coffee Bar workers. He works 2 jobs outside of school and still keeps up with his school work. He might be the most hard working student I have ever had! He is on the track to be a nurse at UT Tyler. Colton always has a good attitude and will try to cheer up people that are down. I am very proud to nominate Colton Eason for student of the month!

⭐ Kaden White is such a kind and respectful person. He is always willing to help! I appreciate all that he does to help out in the office and around campus.

⭐ Brylee Fortner has made significant progress in math and continues to grow in both skill and confidence. She approaches new problems with a positive mindset and is becoming more comfortable explaining her thinking. Her accuracy and problem-solving strategies have improved, and she demonstrates perseverance when faced with challenges. Overall, she is developing a strong foundation in mathematics and should feel proud of her continued growth.

Congratulations to these amazing students!

LaPoynor Secondary celebrated the Junior and Senior Prom on Saturday, April 11th and the masquerade theme made for a fun night. Our students danced the night away and had a great time together 💃🕺

A huge thank you to our prom sponsors and the staff members who spent their evening chaperoning 💜✨

Hopping Into Easter Fun at LPISD 🐇💐

Our elementary campus had a blast hosting Easter egg hunts for our Pre-K through 2nd grade students. And the fun did not stop there because we invited a few extra groups to join in on the excitement too. Our 5th graders stepped in to help hide eggs for our 2nd grade students. Even better, our seniors got the chance to be kids again with their very own Easter egg hunt!

And even though the weather wasn't on our side that morning, that did not slow them down one bit! Thanks to some quick adjustments, most of the egg hunts moved into the gym where the fun continued without missing a beat. A huge thank you to Coach Cait for organizing fun games and activities that kept everyone smiling and moving.

LaPoynor STUCO Recognized at State Conference

For outstanding achievement in leadership, service, and activities that serve to improve the school and community, LaPoynor High School has been recognized by the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) as a Sweepstakes Council. Sweepstakes councils must be recognized as an Outstanding Student Council and receive outstanding recognition in Drugs, Alcohol, Safety and Health (DASH); Pride and Patriotism; and Energy and Environment as well as submitting a Community Service Report. TASC has over 1200 member schools. Of those, LaPoynor High School is one of only around 250 student councils statewide to receive this highly-esteemed honor.

“These students have worked so hard for this achievement. It is an honor to be able to guide these students into leadership. They really are making an impact on their school and community."

Bradi Sims, advisor of LaPoynor High School Student Council
