2 teams competed in the Academic Rodeo Mindset Breaking Experience in Tyler.
In Mindset Breaking Experience, each team demonstrates their ability to think divergently in solving problems, and they’re scored on creativity, effectiveness, and teamwork. Problems may be verbal, tactile, kinesthetic, or a combination. Our Primary team advanced to the Finals in January! Over 20 schools of all sizes competed this year!
Primary Team: Ronan Steelman, Tucker Almon, Susanna Womble, Jaxlynn King-Perkins, Kimber Kirkly, Parker Robison
Intermediate Team: Madison Mann, Presley Torti, Ethan Moulton, Cooper Jennings, Camden Swoyer, Kaydence Harris, Harper Haynes
Additionally, Kindergarten students had the opportunity to create a one of a kind Critter! Using arts & crafts, along with their own imagination, students transform an ordinary shoebox into their very own Critter. Students work under the supervision of a teacher with minimal help. Six critters are chosen to compete at the Academic Rodeo.
Critter Finalists: Spencer Seal, Asher Miller, Dalton McGarity, Charles Womble (not pictured), Paxton Bishop, Parker Harris
Finally, 1st-5th graders compete to showcase their artistic side. Two students from each grade are selected to advance for the Academic Rodeo where they will compete with other schools across East Texas. Our High School Art class helps to give input and insight to our budding, young artists!
Art Finalists: Mary Sims, Waylon Gregory, Aaron Johnson, Susanna Womble, Presley Torti, Kaydence Harris, Stone Haynes, Hayden Bickerdike, Paisley Striping, Karley Jones
